it's shower time

So I'm a little tardy, but I give myself a bit of grace these days:)

My sweet aunt and her daughters threw us a "welcome Joshua" shower a few weekends ago and it was wonderful! We got to show off both our sons to the whole family (which, for those of you that don't know, my mom is one of six daughters plus two sons so family gatherings are always chaotic, amazing and just the way I grew up)...a few photos from that day:

His two hostesses, who loved on him from the very second we walked in the door...aren't they gorgeous, btw...I can't believe that they're heading to and finishing college this year...makes me feel old:)

with his great grandmother...I treasure this!

And these ladies aren't really family...but they might as well be...I felt so honored that they came!

morning activity

Today was such a lovely morning, I felt like I should blog about our very ordinary, yet very wonderful day:)

My son Robert could be found in our TV room:
This photo is hilarious to me, let me explain: If you can tell, Robert doesn't have pants on because he's decided that he wants to only wear big kid pants from now on...no more diapers for Robert. So, to potty train we have placed beach towels in the rooms we play in to catch any possible accidents...as a result, Robert decided he wanted to protect our TV room's carpet in case Sabre decided to pee on it...he used almost all my dishtowels to protect the carpet from the dog:)

Reason number two that the morning was wonderful, Roberts actually using the potty...three times this morning in fact...and seems genuinely committed to the process...praise the Lord and we're running with it.

Reason number three:
my little man is a sleeping champ! You'll notice that he isn't swaddled and those of you who have young ones are probably saying...WHAT!! no swaddle!! Well let me just explain that my boys hate swaddling...and push against it form day one...we managed to keep Robert swaddled for a bit longer, thanks to the "summer swaddle" technique, but still found our son like this more often than not:

so while we may be the only parents on the planet not swaddling at three weeks...I'm ok with the fact that Joshua is already exhibiting typical Luck boy behavior:)
